Description

Tambayan is a Filipino term for hang-out. The point and objective of this project is for people to GATHER AND HANG-OUT TO LISTEN.

There are two types of Tambayan– one is a pre-recorded thematic playlist listening session; and the other, is a live performance.

Pre-recorded thematic playlist listening session is a 3-hours session. There will be 2 sessions in 1 day, for each of the 3 recording days.  There will be 3-4 resource person/s in each session. Invited resource person/s will be requested to create a playlist on a specific topic relating to the session theme (length: 15mins to 40mins playlist per topic; there might be more than 1 representative for each topic). The playlist may contain music, soundscape recording, narration or storytelling, news, and other types, which correspond to the theme for the Tambay Session. The resource person/s will provide an introduction to his/her/their playlist that summarizes what the audience could expect. The moderator and/or discussant/s will engage the resource person/s to a conversation after the playlist listening.

Resource persons, maybe from different sectors (not only from art), who had projects related to listening, sounding, musicking, and other related acts.

The Listening Tambayan is hyflex, which means resource persons may present physically live, or may send a recorded playlist, then join the discussion live but via online.
